The DEC SuperScan II has been developed with the latest technology, to meet the requirements of new generation vehicles.
This latest SuperScan II model cleverly integrates three essential diagnostic tools:
Now includes BMW and Mini! Latest Updates: July 2010 . Latest Version 9.6.4 with Firmaware 1.43. By means of a simple connection to the vehicle´s diagnostic socket, you will see on your PC screen, in a very clear and simple way, all the fault codes and live data of the different systems on the vehicle.
On any system, such as Petrol or Diesel injection, Airbag, ABS, Comfort Systems, Immobiliser, Climate Control, Body Computer, Power Steering, Electronic Dashboard, Tyre Pressure Control, etc., you will be able to perform nearly the same functions as the original manufacturer's scantool. This includes fault code reading and erasing, parameter reading (live data), component activation and Control Unit - ECU - programming and configuration.
Programming functions are of special interest to today's mechanics, because most new ECUs require some type of reprogramming or configuration after replacement in order to function correctly. Also some ECUs allow user customisations which are only available through special programming functions. Ignition key coding is also of great importance and can in most cases be performed with the SuperScan.
The SuperScan system consists of both hardware and software. The hardware is an intelligent electronic interface that handles all communications between the vehicle and the software. The software handles all diagnostic functions and displays all the processed data on the PC screen. Software modules are grouped in "sister" marques like Peugeot-Citroen or Opel-Vauxhall. See the regularly up-dated application list for further information.
Software modules can be bought separately, allowing others to be added later. This allows technicians or garages to create a system which specifically responds to their individual needs.
| » PC Software |
| The software can be installed on any PC (desktop or laptop) running a Windows 7, Windows XP -SP2, 2000 - SP3, Vista operating systems. Minimum requirements are a Pentium II processor and one free serial RS-232 or USB port. Visualization of vehicle and diagnosis data on a PC screen is far more understandable and rich than a small LCD screen. The DEC user interface is very simple though very powerful for the inexperienced PC user. (SEE DEMO ) |

| » EOBD (European Onboard Diagnostics) |
| This protocol is a unification of a reduced set of diagnostic functions. It allows very basic diagnosis on most European vehicles manufactured after 2000, all US vehicles manufactured after 1996 and some Asian vehicles manufactured after 1998. |
 |
| » USB (Universal Serial Bus) |
| DEC SuperScan II has a USB 1.1 communications port (as well as one RS-232 port) allowing troubleless connection to virtually any new desktop or laptop PC. |
 |
| » Bluetooth |
| This is a revolutionary wireless solution for connecting external devices to a Bluetooth equipped PC! You can roam around your garage and diagnose any car without the need to connect the SuperScan to your PC!! Standard range is between 30 and 50 meters (100m maximum performance)! |
 |
| » Monthly Updates |
| This allows customers to update frequently by downloading from the DEC website. DEC's policy is not to wait for very big updates (with many new systems), but to release software as soon as new features and systems are available! |
 |
| » Technical Support |
| DEC is fully dedicated to its customers and has an efficient and fast technical support system. Customers are offered several ways of contact: phone, fax, email, online. |
 |
| » Internet Downloads |
| The Internet is the fastest and most economical way of staying connected to the world. No matter where in the world customers are, fast update services are provided through the DEC website. |
 |
| » CAN BUS |
| Because more and more manufacturers are using CAN for onboard communications, and also for diagnosis, three types of CAN bus have been included in the latest product: High Speed, Fault Tolerant and Single Wire. These meet all past, current and future requirements for CAN implementations in vehicles. |
 |
| » Original connectors |
As well as a 16 pin OBD connector, original connectors for different diagnostic sockets are provided with the DEC system. This guarantees that there are no faulty connections and problems. |
 |
| » Digital Scope |
| The new DEC SuperScan II has an internal two channel scope. This is a very useful extra tool to perform measurements on components that are found to be faulty using the scanner function. |
 |
| » Firmware Update |
| This interface has several high tech integrated circuits including a RISC microprocessor and FLASH memory to store firmware. It is no longer necessary to physically replace components or EEPROM memory to add additional functionality or adapt the interface to new needs! You can simply re-flash (download a new software) the SuperScan with new downloaded updates! |
 |
| » 12 / 24 Volt Power Supply |
| An 8 to 35 volts power supply system has been incorporated into the DEC Superscan II allowing it to be developed, in the near future, with diagnostic software for trucks and heavy vehicles. |
